About Us

Background

The Legal Environmental Assistance Foundation, Inc. (LEAF) is committed to helping people protect their air, land, and water from pollution and themselves from preventable health problems.

Since 1979, this organization of legal, health and environmental professionals has used its expertise to benefit the quality of life in many communities throughout the United States and the World.

LEAF Protects

LEAF protects community health by:

  • Serving as a watchdog for federal and state regulatory activities and intervening when enforcement is lax;
  • Preparing model laws and ordinances, and participating in federal and state rule making;
  • Forcing government and industries to comply with environmental laws and rules.

In addition, LEAF understands and fights for common sense solutions --- like pollution prevention and energy efficiency --- that allow all people to live free from pollution, regardless of race, income level or ethnicity.
